Community Guidelines

Aletheia is a private, personal space. These guidelines protect that.

Last updated: May 2026

Aletheia Lattice is a private journaling platform — not a social network. Your journal is yours alone. These guidelines are mostly about how you interact with the AI Companion and how you use the platform itself.

Our principles

Aletheia Lattice was built around a few core beliefs:

  • Your process deserves respect. Emotional exploration is serious, personal work. We designed the platform to hold that with care.
  • Privacy is non-negotiable. What you write belongs to you. We will never share, sell, or exploit your journal entries.
  • The AI is a tool, not a therapist. The Companion is here to support reflection, not to replace professional care or provide clinical guidance.
  • Honesty protects everyone. Being clear about what this platform can and cannot do is more important than selling a service.

How to use this space

Aletheia Lattice is designed for:

  • Personal emotional journaling — writing daily as a practice of self-reflection and self-knowledge
  • Processing life transitions — grief, heartbreak, reinvention, anxiety, purpose-seeking
  • Deepening self-awareness — using AI-generated prompts and the Companion as mirrors for your inner world
  • Complementary self-care — alongside, not instead of, professional support when needed

We hope you use this space with the same honesty and care with which it was designed.

How not to use it

Please do not use Aletheia Lattice to:

  • Attempt to use the Companion as a therapist — it cannot provide clinical care, diagnose, or treat mental health conditions
  • Test the limits of the AI with harmful, manipulative, or abusive prompts
  • Use the platform commercially — reselling access, creating accounts on behalf of others without their consent, or extracting content for commercial use
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the AI system, prompts, or backend infrastructure
  • Share your account — each account is for one person's personal journaling journey
  • Create false accounts or misrepresent who you are

Safety and wellbeing

We have built safety mechanisms into the Companion — if you share language that suggests you are in crisis, it will respond with care and direct you to appropriate resources. But the platform is not a crisis intervention tool.

If you are in crisis, please do not rely on the Companion. Contact emergency services or a crisis helpline. See our Disclaimer for resources.

We monitor for crisis signals in an anonymised way (without reading your full entries) to understand if users need additional support resources on the platform.

If at any point the journaling process feels overwhelming or destabilising, please pause and consider speaking with a professional. Emotional exploration is powerful work — doing it sustainably matters.

Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

  • A warning and explanation
  • Temporary restriction of the Companion feature
  • Account suspension or termination (for serious violations)

We will always aim to handle these situations with fairness and direct communication. If you have a question about these guidelines, email us at hello@aletheialattice.com.
