Terms of Service

Aletheia Lattice (“Aletheia”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides an AI-guided emotional journaling platform accessible at aletheialattice.com and through its associated services.

Our platform offers:

• 30-day guided emotional journaling programmes with AI-generated daily prompts
• An AI Companion for conversational emotional reflection during your journaling process
• Personalised content based on an emotional intake process you complete at the start
• Lifecycle communications to support your journaling practice

By accessing or using Aletheia Lattice, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

Aletheia Lattice is a personal reflection and self-discovery tool. It is not:

• A licensed mental health service or therapy platform
• A substitute for professional psychological or psychiatric treatment
• A crisis intervention or emergency support service
• A medical service, diagnostic tool, or health intervention
• A service staffed by licensed therapists, counsellors, or psychologists

The AI Companion is a generative AI system. It is not a human, it is not a therapist, and it cannot provide clinical support. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances. Treat them as reflection prompts, not professional guidance.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, thoughts of self-harm, or are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services (999/911/112) or a crisis helpline immediately.

To use Aletheia Lattice, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction
• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy

Aletheia Lattice is not designed for use by minors. If you are under 18, you may not use this service without verified parental consent. We reserve the right to close accounts that we discover belong to minors.

Our service is available worldwide, but we cannot guarantee that it complies with the laws of every country. It is your responsibility to ensure that using Aletheia Lattice is lawful in your jurisdiction.

When you create an account, you are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access

You may only create one account per person. You may not share your account with others or transfer it to another person.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in misuse, or where required by law.

Aletheia Lattice uses Claude (by Anthropic) to generate personalised journal prompts, Companion responses, and post-journey summaries. By using our service, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Content is generated by AI and may not be perfect, accurate, or appropriate in all cases
• Your journal responses and intake answers are processed by Anthropic's AI systems to generate personalised content (see our Privacy Policy)
• AI responses are for reflection purposes only — they are not medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice
• We do not review individual journal entries or Companion conversations unless required for safety or legal reasons
• AI-generated content may occasionally be irrelevant, surprising, or feel off — this is a known limitation of generative AI

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

One-time journal purchases grant you access to a specific 30-day programme. Access begins when your payment is confirmed.

Subscription products (Companion, Continuity) are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until the period ends.

Digital goods notice: All Aletheia products are digital content delivered immediately upon purchase. By purchasing, you acknowledge that delivery begins immediately and that your statutory right of withdrawal under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and EU Consumer Rights Directive is waived once content delivery has begun, unless the content is defective.

Your journal entries, emotional profile, and account data are yours. We process them only to provide the service to you. We do not sell your data.

Please read our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, why, and how you can access, export, or delete your data at any time.

You can export all your data or permanently delete your account from Settings → Privacy.

You agree not to use Aletheia Lattice to:

• Harass, intimidate, or harm yourself or others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our AI systems or content
• Use the service for any commercial purpose without our written permission
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or access other users' data
• Provide false information or impersonate another person
• Use automated tools to access the service at scale

Your content: Your journal entries, intake responses, and any writing you create belong to you. We claim no ownership over your personal writing. You grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the service (generating AI responses, creating summaries).

Our platform: The Aletheia Lattice platform, including its design, copy, AI systems, and technology, belongs to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our platform content without permission.

Aletheia Lattice is provided “as is” with reasonable care and skill. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific needs.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aletheia Lattice's liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for: emotional distress arising from AI-generated content; decisions made based on Companion responses; data loss due to force majeure; or indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or an in-app notice at least 14 days before changes take effect.

Continuing to use Aletheia Lattice after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may close your account before they take effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in your country of residence.

EU residents retain all rights granted under applicable EU consumer protection and data protection law, including GDPR. UK residents retain all rights under applicable UK law.
